The accident happened around 1:38 p.m. on Hill Street near the Putnam County Golf Course, according to Jack Casey, public information officer for the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.

The road was closed between Tyler Court and Kaitlin Drive for about three hours while police examined and cleared the accident scene, Casey said.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center, but neither its exact location nor the victim’s condition was known at press time.

It was also not known if the driver of the car was injured.
