Elder R. Martinez Giron, 23, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 15, after he collided with the parked police car on Main Street in the village, police said.

The trooper had just pulled over another driver in an unrelated DWI case, police said.

The suspect in that case was under arrest and sitting in the trooper’s car when the crash occurred, police said.

Neither the trooper nor the other suspect was injured, police said.

Giron gave police a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .22 percent, more than two times the legal limit, police said.

He was ticketed and ordered to appear in the Village of Brewster Justice Court on Monday, Feb. 8, police said.
