Two Killed In Overnight Crash On I-90

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Two people were killed overnight in a one-car crash on I-90 in Albany, state police said.

The crash occurred on the eastbound side near Exit 24.

The driver of a 1992 Honda Accord, Robert L. Frechette, 25, of Albany, drifted off the north shoulder, striking the guiderail and then sign post, before coming to rest, state police said. Frechette was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger, Kelsey Shagalski, 26, of Schenectady, was transported to Albany Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, according to state police.

The accident is being reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) and is still under investigation.
