PUTNAM, N.Y. -- The Putnam Valley Town Board voted unanimously to spend $100 in an effort to reopen Spur Beach, according to theexaminernews.com.

The money will pay engineer John Carroll Jr. for his services as he works with the county, according to theexaminernews.com.

The beach was closed on Memorial Day in 2014 after the town made major modifications the previous winter and spring without getting the appropriate permits, according to theexaminernews.com.
