Michael Morales, 29, of Mahopac, was arrested early Thursday near Route Six in Yorktown, police said.
He was allegedly speeding, leading a police officer to stop his vehicle and issue him an infraction for that offense.
Upon further investigation, police say they learned that Morales was under the influence of alcohol.
Morales is charged with two misdemeanors – DWI and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more.
After his arrest, he was released on his own recognizance to a family member, according to police.
Morales is scheduled to appear July 23 in Yorktown Justice Court, court records show.
