Construction, New Buses On Minds Of Brewster School Board Members

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Summer vacation can be extended slightly in Brewster due to upcoming construction, said The Putnam Examiner.

Multiple projects will begin in summer Kevin Sawyer of Triton Construction reportedly told school board members, reported The Putnam Examiner.

Project bids will go out for construction at the high school, administrative office and concession in April, followed by ones for work at CV Starr Intermediate School and John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Sawyer said, according to The Putnam Examiner.

The work could extend summer a week, said The Putnam Examiner.

In other action, the board revealed that eight school buses will be acquired. pending voter approval in May, The Putnam Examiner reported.

These would be two 66-passenger buses, three 20-passenger buses, and three seven-passenger buses bought with district loans in the amount of $490,000 and state aid that would cover 43.5 percent of the buses price, according to The Putnam Examiner.
