To help ensure the safety of young trick-or-treaters in Westchester on Halloween night, county officials will be requiring registered sex offenders to attend a program intended to keep them off the streets. A visitor to a Westchester gas station walked away with a lottery ticket worth tens of thousands of dollars. The third-prize-winning Powerball ticket, worth $50,000, was sold in White Plains for the drawing on Monday, Oct. 21, New York Lottery officials announced. A business in Northern Westchester is mourning the loss of a former employee who spent more than four decades leaving a large impact on people during something as routine as a hardware store visit.
