Driver Rescued After Plunging Into Reservoir In Hudson Valley A driver was rescued from a partially submerged vehicle in a Hudson Valley reservoir, authorities said.  The incident occurred in Putnam County shortly after noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3, when a vehicle crashed into the West Branch Reservoir near Washington Road in Carmel, according to the Carmel Police Department. The driver, a 76-year-old Mahopac woman, was unable to exit the vehicle, prompting an immediate response from Carmel Police officers, along with the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team, and EMS units. Two Rescued After Truck Falls Into Water In Fairfield County During Nor'easter Two people were rescued in dramatic fashion from a sinking pickup truck in Fairfield County during the peak of the Nor'easter. It happened around 2:10 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, in Stamford in the water off of Cummings Park in Stamford,  First-arriving fire personnel found a 4-door pickup truck partially submerged and floating approximately 40 feet off of the shore of Long Island Sound, said Stamford Fire Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Palmer.
