Police: Man Caught After Hitting Woman With Car, Attempting To Drown Her In New Canaan A 31-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly deliberately hitting a woman who was walking with his vehicle during a kidnapping attempt and then trying to drown her in New Canaan, police said. Police were notified of the attack by a 911 call around 4 p.m., Monday, May 25. Range Rovers Stolen In New Canaan Both Recovered In New Jersey Two Range Rovers stolen from driveways in New Canaan have been recovered in two different New Jersey cities. According to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, both were stolen on Thursday, April 13, from driveways on Valley Road. Both stolen vehicles were unlocked and the keys were inside of each vehicle. These vehicle thefts occurred during the early morning hours, he said.  One stolen vehicle was recovered in Newark, and the other in Irvington, Krolikowski said.
