Jami Anthony, age 47, of Hayes, Virginia, pleaded guilty to receiving bribes as a federal official in US District Court in Central Islip on Monday, June 26. Gas Prices To Rise This Spring, AAA Says There is no relief in sight for drivers’ wallets at the pump, as gas prices continue to rise and should continue to do so well into the spring, according to AAA. For weeks, gas prices have slowly, but surely, continued to creep upward, to a national average of $2.52 per gallon, up eight cents from a month ago and nearly 25 cents a year ago, when the average was $2.30 per gallon. In a forecast released by AAA Northeast, the national average is expected to reach as high as $2.70 per gallon, the highest since the summer of 2015.
