State Police Issue Alert For Wanted Area Man
Know him? New York State Police investigators are attempting to locate a man with ties to the Hudson Valley who was arrested on drug charges last year. An alert was issued by State Police in Wappingers for 31-year-old Carmelo Velez, who was arrested last year for criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was busted with cocaine. Police noted that Velez is known to have ties to Newburgh and the Bronx. An alert has been issued for a wanted woman who was arrested more than five years ago for attempting to sneak marijuana into the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill. New York State Police investigators in Wappinger are attempting to locate Latifah Price, 24, who is wanted following her arrest for promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police said that Price was arrested in 2014 after an investigation determined she attempted to smuggle 18 grams of marijuana into the Downstate Correctional Facility. An alert has been issued by New York State Police investigators as they attempt to locate a woman who attempted to smuggle drugs into the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill earlier this year. Investigators in Wappinger issued an alert for Vataria Barcelo, 22, who is wanted by State Police and the Town of Fishkill Court following her arrest in May for attempting to smuggle synthetic cannabis into the prison. An alert has been issued for a 21-year-old Hudson Valley woman who allegedly attempted to bring drugs into the Fishkill Correctional Facility in 2017. A man attempted to pose as a police officer before being busted with more than 50 grams of heroin during a traffic stop on I-84 in Dutchess County. An inmate from Northern Westchester at the Fishkill Correctional Facility is facing a new felony charge after being caught by corrections officers with an alleged illegal weapon. A traffic stop on I-84 in Dutchess County led to weapons charges for a man in possession of an illegal handgun.
