Duo In Runaway Stolen Car Caught On Parkway In Northern Westchester, Police Say
A man and woman both face charges after they were caught on a Northern Westchester parkway in a stolen vehicle that had been driving from the scene of a crime, police said. The incident happened on Saturday, Aug. 5 just before 1:15 p.m., when Yorktown Police were notified of a stolen vehicle driving north on the Taconic State Parkway that had allegedly been involved in a crime committed in New York City. Ramp Closure: Route 9A, Taconic State Parkway To Be Affected In Northern Westchester
A ramp in Northern Westchester will soon be impacted by a planned closure. The ramp between Route 9A/100 to the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Mount Pleasant is planned to close on Saturday, Aug. 12, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closure will last between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. and is planned to allow for guide rail repairs. Commuters should use the posted detours as an alternate route, officials said.

A man with a suspended license was nabbed on grand larceny charges after stealing more than $1,000 worth of products from a Northern Westchester store and fleeing on a busy parkway, police said. Commuters in Westchester are being warned that a portion of the Saw Mill River Parkway will close for a period of time to allow for roadwork. On Monday, March 27, between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., the Saw Mill River Parkway will close in both directions between Exit 21 (State Route 119) in Greenburgh and Exit Exit 26 (Taconic State Parkway) in Mount Pleasant, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Car Flips Over On Taconic State Parkway In Northern Westchester, Driver Hospitalized
One person was taken to a hospital after their vehicle flipped over on the Taconic State Parkway in Northern Westchester. The crash happened on Friday, March 3 just after noon when a car flipped over on the Taconic State Parkway southbound in Millwood just past the Exit 8 ramp, according to the Millwood Fire Department. The occupant of the vehicle was able to free themselves from the wreckage and was evaluated by personnel from Ossining EMS and the Millwood Fire Department. The driver was then taken to Westchester Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.
