The incident happened on Monday, Nov. 6 just after 2:15 p.m., when first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Route 100 and Moseman Avenue in Somers for a two-car crash, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.  After arriving at the scene of the wreck, first responders took one patient to a nearby hospital. The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 30 around 4:45 p.m., when crews in Somers responded to Route 139 for a reported motor vehicle fire. According to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, arriving crews quickly arrived at the scene of the blaze and doused the flames with water within seconds, quickly extinguishing it. Burglary Suspects At Large After Northern Westchester Incident, Police Say Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding two suspects who were involved in a Northern Westchester burglary.  The two suspects were involved in a burglary that happened in Somers in 2022, New York State Police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 19.  Both men were seen operating a 4th generation BMW 3 Series, authorities said.  Anyone with any information as to the suspects' identities is asked to call New York State Police at (914) 769-2600 and refer to case number 10940421.  This is a developing story. The beloved statue in front of The Elephant Hotel in Somers, known as Old Bet, was taken down because officials discovered that it was beginning to crack, Town Supervisor Robert Scorrano said on Tuesday, July 25.  The statue dates back to 1827 when a gilt wood replica of an elephant was installed on iron scrollwork on top of a granite shaft in front of the hotel, which was built between 1820 and 1825 and is located at 335 US-202.
