Ridgefield Woman Nabbed After Driving Drunk On Route 7: Police A 48-year-old woman faces drunk driving charges after being pulled over on a busy road in Fairfield County, police announced. The arrest stemmed from an incident on Thursday, March 21 just before 2:30 a.m., when Wilton Police stopped a black 2015 Subaru Impreza that had been traveling north on Danbury Road (Route 7), according to the department.  The driver, Ridgefield resident Adrienne Allen, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and admitted to drinking before driving. Worker Killed After Truck Crash In Wilton An investigation is underway after a landscaping truck fatally struck a company employee in Fairfield County over the weekend. Police responded to the crash in Wilton at 77 Danbury Road (Route 7) at about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, according to the Wilton Police Department. The Wilton Fire Department and Wilton EMS also responded to the scene. Authorities found that the truck had run over an employee of the landscaping company, and the employee was trapped under the truck. Driver Injured After Truck Fire At Ridgefield Shopping Complex A service truck driver was injured after his vehicle burst into flames at a busy shopping complex in Fairfield County. It happened just before 9 a.m. Saturday, March 6 at 590 Danbury Road (Route 35) in Ridgefield, just off the intersection to Route 7.  Ridgefield Professional Firefighters and Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze. ID Released For 20-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Ridgefield Crash A 20-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County on Route 7. The crash took place around 4:02 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, on Route 7 near Stonehenge Road in Ridgefield. The two vehicles collided head-on, and both drivers needed to be extricated from their vehicles, said Ridgefield Police Captain Shawn Platt. Ridgefield Health Director Ed Briggs confirmed the town currently has 46 COVID-19 active cases with the ages of those infected ranging from 19-89 as of early Thursday afternoon, March 26. In the last 24 hours, Briggs said there are four new cases testing positive in the town. Northern Westchester Motorist With No Insurance Faces Drunk Driving Charge In Fairfield County A 46-year-old Northern Westchester man nabbed in Fairfield County for allegedly driving without insurance was also charged with driving drunk. Christopher Evers, of North Salem, was stopped around 1:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, on Route 7 in the area of Blue Ridge Road for failing to display registration, said the Wilton Police Department. During the stop, Evers was found to be driving a Toyota minivan with an expired NY temporary plate and no insurance. Bedford Teen Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Crash A Northern Westchester teen motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash when he attempted to drive between two other vehicles on Route 7 in South Norwalk, according to the Connecticut State Police.
