Pair Of Bears Spotted Near North Salem Intersection: Here's Where Two black bears were seen together at an intersection in Northern Westchester, officials announced. The duo was seen by the intersection of Route 116 and Route 121 on Old Salem Center Road in North Salem, Supervisor Warren Lucas announced on Thursday, Oct. 12 around 4:15 p.m.  Authorities were notified about the animals, but Lucas said residents should have no cause for concern.  "The police are aware, please be aware. At this point they weren't bothering anyone," Lucas said.

Woman In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Vehicle Crossing Route 121 A 61-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 121 in Northern Westchester with her bicycle, state police said. The incident took place around 6:37 p.m. Wednesday when the woman was attempting to cross Route 121 in Lewisboro in the hamlet of Cross River when she was struck by a northbound car, said Trooper AJ Hicks, spokesman for the New York State Police. ID Released For BMW Motorcycle Driver Killed In Lewisboro Crash The 38-year-old man operating a 2014 BMW motorcycle who was killed in a crash with an SUV in Northern Westchester on Friday afternoon has been identified. At approximately 2:15 p.m., Daniel J. Thiel of Sandy Hook, CT, was operating the motorcycle on Route 121 in Lewisboro when he struck another vehicle, a 2014 Acura MDX, at the intersection of Route 138, state police from the Somers barrack said.
