The incident took place around 7 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, on Danbury Road in Ridgefield when a woman was swerving to avoid another vehicle pulling into her lane of travel and ended up entering the lot of Pamby Motors and hitting the vehicle, said Captain Shawn Platt of the Ridgefield Police. Man, 60, Killed When Motorcycle Crashes Into Sign On Route 35 A 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Northern Fairfield County. The crash happened just after 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1 on a stretch of Route 35 in Ridgefield, police said. The victim, identified as John Lienhardt, 60, of Cos Cob, was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway, striking a road sign, Ridgefield Police said. He was then treated at the scene and transported to the Danbury Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.

Two Suspects Flee Scene Of Attempted Burglary On Route 116 Two suspects are on the loose after an attempted burglary on North Salem Road (Route 116) in Ridgefield on Wednesday morning. The two males broke a window of a residence and fled the area, Ridgefield Police said early Wednesday evening.  Ridgefield officers, K9 officer Loki, and Westchester County Aviation Unit searched for the suspects but did not locate them. Witnesses described the suspects as two white males in their late teens or early 20s. Height was reported as about 5-foot-5.
