Actor Charles Grodin, Who Dies At 86, Was Longtime Fairfield County Resident Actor Charles Gordon, a longtime Connecticut resident, died at the age of 86. Grodin, who lived in Fairfield County, in Wilton, died from bone marrow cancer on Tuesday, May 18, his family announced. Grodin had numerous stage credits before he was cast in “Catch-22” in 1970 by director Mike Nichols. He then went on to star in “Heartbreak Kid,” in “Heaven Can Wait” with Warren Beatty, and with Robert De Niro in “Midnight Run.” “Chuck was as good a person as he was an actor," De Niro said in a statement issued through his publicist. Cross River's Jeff Tambor Holds Ridgefield Playhouse Free Student Showcase Renowned Northern Westchester actor and arts teacher Jeffrey Tambor will hold a free student showcase on stage at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The final class of Tambor’s creative workshop, titled, “Performing Your Life- The Art of the Personal Monologue,” will be held at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. This free showcase will feature monologues from students who have worked with Tambor over the six-week course to develop their creative process. Fleury spoke about his struggles with addiction and mental health associated with physical abuse at the hands of a former youth hockey coach in Canada. Fleury went on to win a Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames and became a gold medalist in the Winter Olympics.
