Missing 58-Year-Old NY Woman Found Dead
A 58-year-old woman who was reported missing in upstate New York has been found dead.
The body of Lisa DeAngelis, of Cambridge in Washington County, was positively identified Friday, Aug. 5, in Rensselaer County, New York State Police said.
Investigators said they recovered the woman’s body in a wooded area on County Route 114 in the town of Schaghticoke, not far from where her vehicle was found on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Relatives had reported DeAngelis missing on Friday, July 29, after she failed to return home, police said.

When it comes to the healthiest locales in the United States, several counties in New York are faring quite well, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
The outlet analyzed nearly 3,000 US counties on metrics it said shape and show the health of a community, like public safety, access to healthcare, educational equity, income, housing affordability, food availability, and nutrition.

City Council Member In NY Admits To Casting Ballots In Others' Names
A city council member in New York's Capital District has pleaded guilty to identity theft after sending in absentee ballots using other people’s names.
Kimberly McPherson, age 61, of Troy, copped to the charges Wednesday, June 8, in federal court in Albany.
Along with her plea, she agreed to resign from the Troy City Council, according to the US Attorney’s Office in the North District.
Prosecutors said McPherson illegally cast an absentee ballot using the name of another person in the 2021 primary election.
She did the same thing again, twice, in the general election, prosecutors said.
