Officer Injured After Being Struck By SUV In Area An officer directing traffic was rushed to the hospital after being struck by SUV on a busy stretch of Route 6. The incident happened around 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Mahopac. Due to the injuries and the mechanism of injury, the Putnam County sheriff's deputy was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department’s Ambulance where it was determined that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Officers with the PCSD were dispatched via Putnam 911 to a report of a two-car personal injury crash on Route 6 in the area of Bridge Lane in the town of Southeast on Thursday, Oct. 31 around 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers allegedly observed Julian Chulo, the driver of one of the vehicles, sitting on the shoulder of the road. The man was found after flames devoured the mobile home in Putnam County in the Post Road Mobile Home Park on Route 9 in Philipstown, around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4. Search For Missing Man Causes Closures Of Area Lake Lake Carmel is closed to swimmers and boaters as emergency responders search for a missing man. The Lake Carmel Fire Department said it was dispatched on a report of a missing swimmer at around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, July 20. The man has been identified as a Connecticut resident in his 50s. The department was assisted in the search by the Carmel Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department dive team and Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Kent Police.
