Major Water Main Break Affects Service Throughout Much Of City In Westchester Officials are warning residents that they may encounter brown water following a major water main break that affected service throughout an entire city in Westchester.  The water break happened in the downtown area of White Plains on Wednesday, March 27 around 11:30 a.m., according to White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach.  The large break affected water service for residents throughout the city. Water Shut Off For Hundreds In Westchester After Main Break Hundreds in Westchester woke up without water as a main break caused trouble for city employees as they worked to make repairs overnight. The Yonkers Department of Public Works was forced to perform an emergency water shutdown late on Monday, Aug. 16, heading into Tuesday, Aug. 17, due to a main break that impacted certain city neighborhoods. Temporary Water Shutdown, Road Closure Announced In Croton-On-Hudson Water service will be disrupted and roads closed in Croton-on-Hudson as crews conduct hydrant work in the village. Elected officials in Croton-on-Hudson issued an alert warning that beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, water will be turned off in the vicinity of Maple Street, and later on Old Post Road South at approximately 9 p.m.  Officials said that residents who will be affected have been notified of the shutdown. During the hydrant work, Maple Street will be closed westbound between Grand Street and Old Post Road South. Eastbound traffic is not expected to be impacted.
