Beloved Longtime Firefighter, Veteran From Northern Westchester Dies: Served Up Until Death A Northern Westchester community is mourning the loss of a decorated firefighter, Navy veteran, and lifelong public servant who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.  Somers resident Walter McDonald died on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the age of 90, according to his obituary.  Born in Mount Vernon on Feb. 18, 1934, McDonald dedicated much of his life to serving others. Former Area HS Sports Standout Dies At Age 54 A former high school sports standout in the area who went on to play at the collegiate level has died at age 54. Christopher Peter Sennas was a 1985 graduate of Nyack High School, where he earned All-County and All-Conference honors in lacrosse. He graduated from Roanoke College in 1989 where he was a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Contractors From Westchester Charged With Scamming Customers Two contractors from Westchester and one from Dutchess have been charged after police say they scammed numerous customers in Greenwich. Greenwich Police say they arrested Weber Marin, 34, of White Plains, Ilir Cubi, 41, of Yonkers and Joseph Monserrate, 31, of Poughkeepsie on Sunday, June 9 after receiving complaints made by customers about being scammed. The three men had advertised plumbing repair services under an assumed business name and obtained work at three different Greenwich residences, according to police.
