A 30-year-old man was arrested for burglarizing vehicles in Fairfield County, as well as stealing a BMW and later crashing it. Lous Cruz, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 27, after New Canaan Police were dispatched to the area of Urban Street on a report of two males entering and searching through vehicles on the street, said Lieutenant Jason Ferraro. Police are eyeing gang members as suspects after two Jeeps were stolen in New Canaan. New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said the department received complaints on Sunday, May 5, that a 2017 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from the driveway of a residence on Barnegat Road, and that a 2016 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the driveway of a residence on upper Elm Street. A Northern Westchester man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fell asleep talking to officers while under the influence in New Canaan, police say. New Canaan Police responded to the 700 block of Oenoke Ridge Road Monday, Feb. 25 around 8:45 a.m. on the report of a suspicious vehicle stopped on the side of the road. A 43-year-old man with a blood-alcohol content nearly quadruple the legal limit is facing charges after being involved in a one-vehicle crash in New Canaan.
