17-Year-Old Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Newtown
A 17-year-old boy has died after being pulled from the water underneath a bridge in Fairfield County that he had jumped from, police said. The 17-year-old's death resulted from an incident that happened on Thursday, July 27 just before 2 p.m., when Newtown Police officers responded to the Silver Bridge on Glen Road near the Southbury town line after receiving a call for help. According to Newtown Police, officers soon discovered that a 17-year-old from Bridgeport had jumped into the water under the bridge and had not resurfaced. A 26-year-old woman was killed after losing control of her SUV and hitting two utility poles in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Newtown around 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20 on Berkshire Road. Newtown Police, along with Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Newtown Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle crash on Berkshire Road between Sherman Street and Zoar Road, said Sgt. Police: Duo Who Fraudulently Used Credit, Debit Cards At Newtown Stores Believed To Be From NY
Newtown Police are asking the public for help locating two men who fraudulently used credit cards at local stores. The men believed to be from the New York area used the cards at several between 1 and 3:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 8, said the Newtown Police. Police say the men may be driving a dark Chrysler sedan with tinted windows and New York plats. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Lorancaitis at 203-426-5841.
