Man Struck By Police Vehicle Outside New Canaan PD Station, Cops Say A Fairfield County man was injured after being struck by a police vehicle in front of a local department's headquarters. The incident took place in New Canaan around 9 p.m., Monday, June 27 in front of the New Canaan Police Department at 156 South Ave. The New Canaan Police vehicle was exiting the parking lot of 156 South Ave., to turn right onto South Avenue to head north, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police. "As this vehicle was turning right out of the parking lot a bicyclist was struck by the front of the vehicle," Ferraro said. Teenage Girl Hospitalized After Being Struck By Vehicle In New Canaan A teenage girl was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in Fairfield County. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11 in New Canaan. The 15-year-old female pedestrian was observed sitting on the grass near 157 Richmond Hill Road when officers arrived at the scene, New Canaan Police said. Police Searching For Hit-Run Driver Who Struck Bicyclist In New Canaan Police are on the lookout for a driver who hit a bicyclist and then fled the scene in  Fairfield County. The incident took place around 12:511 p.m., Wednesday, April 28 when a vehicle traveling northbound on Smith Ridge Road (Route 123) in New Canaan struck a cyclist who was also traveling northbound and then left the scene of the crash, said Lt. Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police. The cyclist, a 56-year-old Ridgefield man, suffered abrasions and other unknown injuries and was transported to Norwalk Hospital by New Canaan EMS for treatment and further evaluation, Ferraro said.
