The first positive cases of the novel strain of the coronavirus in Orange and Dutchess counties were among 34 new cases reported in the Hudson Valley for the last 24 hours. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo provided the update on the spread of COVID-19 on Thursday, March 12, which has now impacted 328 New Yorkers across 14 counties. Woman Wanted After Being Stopped In Stolen Vehicle In Area
Know her? A Hudson Valley woman is wanted by New York State Police investigators after being arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property last year when she was busted by troopers in a stolen car. An alert was issued for 31-year-old Amy Cornielle, who is wanted by investigators in Highland after she was a passenger in a vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. on Dec. 8 last year, which had been reported stolen out of Monroe County. State Trooper Killed Responding To Domestic Incident Upstate
One of New York’s finest lost his life attempting to assist a suicidal man who barricaded himself in his upstate home. Early on Monday, July 2, New York State Police troopers assisted members of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Corning Police Department, where there was a report of a suicidal man who barricaded himself in his Welch Road home in Erwin. During the incident, trooper Nicholas Clark, 29, was shot and killed. The suspect, 43-year-old Steven Kiley, was later found in the residence dead of an apparent gunshot wound, investigators said. Former Deputy Mayor In Westchester Named Molinaro's Running Mate
Republican gubernatorial candidate Marc Molinaro now has a running mate. The Dutchess County Executive announced Sunday afternoon that he has decided on former Rye Deputy Mayor Julie Killian. Killian has twice lost races for the State Senate, including this year when she fell to Shelley Mayer in a special election for Westchester County Executive George Latimer's former seat.
