A very wintry week has arrived that will include separate blasts of a mix of snow, ice, and freezing rain as well as the possibility of a major storm. The first blast came overnight into Valentine's Day on Sunday, Feb. 14 with an icy mix causing travel slick roads and walkways through the morning with scattered power outages. Chances Increase For Winter Storm With Possibly Significant Snowfall
The likelihood has increased for a potentially significant winter storm early next week. The current time frame for the system is Monday night, Jan. 25 into Tuesday morning, Jan. 26. The storm is expected to cover an approximately 1,500-mile-long zone from parts of the midwest to eastern New York state and southern New England, according to AccuWeather. (See image above.) A wider part of the region is now expected to see some snowfall from a winterlike storm moving in from the Midwest that will combine forces with the remnants of Hurricane Zeta.
