Road Closures Scheduled During Yorktown Holiday Light Parade Santa Claus is coming to Yorktown this weekend, and he’s bringing a host of road closures for the annual Holiday Lights parade. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that “to provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators,” there will be road closures beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. The parade is scheduled to begin on Front Street, near the Yorktown Highway Department, and will travel west on Underhill Avenue to the intersection with Commerce Street. Road Closures Scheduled During Yorktown Festival, Street Fair There’s going to be dancing in the streets in Yorktown over the weekend, leading to road closures in the area as the community celebrates the 10th annual Chamber of Commerce Festival and Street Fair. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble said that in an abundance of caution and to keep parade participants and spectators safe there will be road closures. From 7 a.m. too 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, Commerce Street will be closed between CVS Plaza and Hanover Street. Veterans Road will also be closed between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street.
