Police have identified two 25-year-olds killed while crossing a street, and the hit-and-run driver involved in the incident in Fairfield County. The two were killed in Stamford around 2 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Main Street. Second Closure For I-95 Bridge Replacement Project Starts
Contracting crews are gearing up to shut down a stretch of I-95 for the second weekend in a row as they continue working on a multi-million dollar bridge replacement project in Fairfield County. Earlier this year, the Connecticut State Department of Transportation announced plans to replace the Route 1 overpass at Exit 9 in Stamford with a new steel and concrete structure over the summer. WWE’s world headquarters will be moving to a new location in Stamford. The property located at 677 Washington Boulevard will soon be home to the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.), the City of Stamford announced in a Thursday, March 21 press release. The WWE will be leaving its current headquarters of more than 30 years, Titan Towers, at 1241 East Main Street. Longtime Stamford Resident Suffers Serious Injuries In Accident
Stamford Police have identified a woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit while crossing a downtown street, according to Stamford Police. Benita Muralles, 69, a long-time Stamford resident, is expected to undergo surgery for injuries she suffered after being hit around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, said Stamford Police Sgt. Andrew Gallagher.
