A Hudson Valley man has been hit with grand larceny charges after allegedly stealing wire and other power grid material from a contractor working with a utility company in Northern Westchester, police said. A two-vehicle crash caused a busy Hudson Valley intersection to close for almost an hour and caused injuries. The collision happened in Putnam County on Sunday, July 21 just after 5:30 p.m., when two cars crashed at the intersection of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road (Route 34) in Mahopac. According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, one person received medical transport while another was taken to a hospital. Authorities are warning residents not to fall for a false social media post claiming that a child is missing in the Hudson Valley. According to the Carmel Police Department in Putnam County, the fake post alleges that there is a missing 14-year-old child in Mahopac. The post comes from a page that repeatedly posts scam and hoax messages, the department said.
