Man Sentenced For Murdering Ex-Girlfriend's Daughter In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced for stabbing his ex-girlfriend's daughter to death.
Dutchess County resident Paul Senecal, age 39, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was sentenced on Monday, April 10, to life in prison without the possibility of parole, said Dutchess County Chief Assistant District Attorney, Matthew Weishaupt.
Senecal was convicted by a jury in February of murder in the first degree, and two counts of murder in the second degree, along with other charges in the stabbing death of Melanie Chianese, age 29, in her town of Wappinger home, Weishaupt said.

Orange County resident John Pelcin, of Monroe, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 29, according to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police.
According to Nevel, on Friday, Sept. 2, the village of Monroe Police Department initiated an investigation into sexual assaults of a minor that had occurred over several years.

A New York man is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a young child.
Orange County resident Jairo Garcia, age 31, of Newburgh, was arrested Wednesday, May 18, following an investigation by Orange County Child Protective Services and New York State Police.
Investigators accused him of engaging in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.
Garcia was charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.

Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing Fairfield County mother of five Jennifer Farber Dulos, is clinging to life and being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning hours after an apparent suicide attempt, police say.

Yonkers residents Feliciano Perez Bautista, 31, Jorge Arce Villano, 26, and a third unnamed suspect who remains at large, have been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury for their roles in the death of Efigenio Jose Rojas in July.
