Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Illegally Killing Bear A Hudson Valley homeowner has been accused of allegedly killing a black bear without provocation.  The incident took place in Dutchess County on Saturday, April 22 in the town of Dover.  According to the state Department of Environmental Conservation, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call for shots fired and witnessed an individual dragging the bear back to his residence when they arrived at the location. Four Baby Squirrels Rescued After Tails Found Stuck Together In Hudson Valley Four baby squirrels found tied together by their tails were rescued by a wildlife officer after receiving a report of the squirrels in distress. The babies were discovered in Dutchess County last month when the state Department of Environmental Conservation responded to the call from the hamlet of Verbank, in the town of Union Vale. Man Nabbed For Illegally Dumping Trash, Debris Near I-84 A Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy had to get his hands dirty to track down a suspect who illegally dumped trash and construction debris on county property near I-84. On Monday, July 29, Deputy Randel Hill was on patrol on Barrett Road in Southeast when he came upon a “large quantity” of trash that had been illegally dumped. Hill photographed the scene and proceeded to dig through several bags to find any evidence that would lead them to the owner. Putnam County Police Capt.
