Six Trucks, Drivers Put Out Of Service In New Canaan, State Police Checkpoint Several truck drivers and their vehicles have been removed from the road in New Canaan as local and state police conducted a special detail targeting tractor-trailers in the area. Members of the New Canaan Police Department Patrol Division and the Connecticut State Police Traffic Unit’s Truck Squad conducted the special detail from 7 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Police set up a checkpoint at the intersection of New Norwalk Road and Hoyt Farm Road, stopping a total of 41 vehicles.
