Pound Ridge Firefighters Assist In Battling Stamford Blaze Fires broke out in two homes within a few miles of each other overnight in Fairfield County with one resulting in an injured resident. The first of the blazes began around 1:18 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, when neighbors called 9-1-1 reporting a large fire in the area of Blackwood Lane in the Turn of River area of Stamford. Woman Seriously Injured After Being Run Over By Her Own SUV In Stamford An investigation is underway after a local woman was seriously injured when her SUV rolled over her in a busy Stamford parking lot. The initial investigation revealed that Anne Wade, a 54-year-old Stamford resident, was entering her vehicle, which was parked in the lot at 15 High Ridge Rd., Stamford Police said.  According to witnesses, Wade was having problems releasing her emergency brake before she exited her vehicle and was then somehow able to get the brake released, according to police.
