Man Accused Of Leaving Scene After Crashing Into Two Vehicles In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged avoiding responsibility/property damage and unsafe backing after attempting to leave the scene of a crash. Three Thieves Targeting New Canaan Ralph Lauren Store Take Cops On Chase, Hit Cruiser A trio of professional rip-off thieves who have allegedly been targeting the Ralph Lauren store in New Canaan got away after a high-speed chase and driving into a police vehicle.  The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, while a New Canaan officer was working a security assignment at the store located at 51 Elm St., said New Canaan Lt. On March 6, investigators at the New Canaan Police Department received a report of a burglary at Embody Fitness on Forest Street, which was caught on video days earlier at approximately 3:45 in the morning, when $100 was taken. Five days later, at approximately 5:30 a.m., approximately 80 more dollars was taken.
