Ex-Fire Chief From Hudson Valley Dies of 9/11-Related Illness The ex-chief of the Pine Bush Fire Department and a former New York City Fire Department firefighter, has died from 9/11 related injuries at the age of 65. Richard “Ricky” John Tanagretta died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, surrounded by his family, said his obituary. Tanagretta worked as an FDNY firefighter for 26 years. Woman Rescued After Falling Into Hole Used To Hold Tank In Northern Westchester A Northern Westchester woman who fell into a hole in the ground was rescued by first responders after a health aide discovered she was missing. The incident took place around 9:25 a.m. Wednesday on Ketchum Avenue in Buchanan when the woman went outside to check the 5-foot hole that used to hold an old tank in her yard, said Buchanan Police Chief Brian Tubbs.
