A firefighter was injured during a blaze at a Northern Westchester home that began in the residence's garage. The incident began on Thursday, May 16 just after 6 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters raced to a home on Memory Lane for a reported blaze. A basement fire at a popular Westchester eatery resulted in three people being injured, including a firefighter who was hospitalized. A three-alarm fire in a Fairfield County high-rise apartment building was quickly extinguished by firefighters. The fire took place in Stamford around 8 p.m. at 60 Strawberry Hill Avenue. Just as a fierce Nor'easter moved into Fairfield County, firefighters were out battling an early-morning house fire. The fire started around 1:20 a.m., Monday, Feb. 1, at a home on Treat Avenue in Stamford. A four-alarm fire has responders from across the region working to knock down flames at a strip mall in Westchester. The fire started around 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Yonkers on the 600-block of Yonkers Avenue in a commercial building, and has caused multiple collapses inside, according to a post on Facebook by the Yonkers Uniformed Fire Officers Association. Ten firefighters were injured and a dozen families displaced when a fire broke out that left two houses in Westchester destroyed and caused Metro-North delays.
