12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In New Canaan A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. Alert Issued For Eversource Gas Main Project In New Canaan As part of a multi-million-dollar project to expand the natural gas distribution system in Darien and New Canaan, Eversource Energy will be working along State Routes 106 and 124 beginning the week of April 30.  According to local police, drivers may experience delays due to alternating one-way traffic as well as occasional lane closures.
