The South Fork Wind farm, located approximately 35 miles off the coast of Long Island, achieved its “steel in the water” milestone with the installation of the project’s first monopile foundation, Gov. Downed Tree Causes Road Closure In Pound Ridge Hundreds of residents in a town in Fairfield County are without power due to downed tree limbs and wires as wind gusts between 30 and 35 miles per hour are being reported in the area. Just before 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, Eversource is reporting 675 customers in Ridgefield are in the dark after the incident in the northwestern part of town near the North Salem border. Nearby, just over the border in Northern Westchester, Route 124 is closed due to a down tree between Route 137 and Kitchawan Road in Pound Ridge. Check back to Daily for updates.

Vehicle Crashes Into Pole, Causing Road Closure In Area A busy road was closed and a driver was injured after crashing into a utility pole in Fairfield County, police said. It happened in New Canaan on Ponus Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m., Monday, May 9. The crash, which is under investigation, caused a utility pole to snap, which caused the road closure as Eversource worked to replace it, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police. Police Identify Victims Of Double-Fatal Stamford Crash Two teens killed and four others injured in a single-vehicle crash in Stamford have been identified. The crash took place around 2:32 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26, when a 2008 Nissan Altima struck two utility polices, knocking down both of them and sending live electrical wires on top of the vehicle on Canal Street, just north of Ludlow Street, said Stamford Police Sgt. Update On New Canaan Road Closures New Canaanites have lots of dodging and driving in circles to handle Friday with more than 35 roads closed and some others either partially blocked or with some type of obstruction to avoid. But, that's good news. Earlier there were more than 124 road closures or obstructions.
