Separate Rounds Of Wet Weather Will Start On Black Friday
A stretch of sunny, dry days leading up to and including Thanksgiving Day will be followed by separate rounds of wet weather, starting on Black Friday, Nov. 25, according to the National Weather Service. After a one-day reprieve from precipitation on Saturday, Nov. 26, those back on the road and in airports traveling will have to contend with a second round of wet weather on Sunday, Nov. 27. A storm system that will travel through the central and eastern United States is expected to bring a new round of snowfall to the region later in the week. Presidents' Day on Monday, Feb. 21 will be partly cloudy with a moderation in temperatures as the high reaches the upper 40s to the low 50s, according to the National Weather Service. Unusual Illness Killing Large Number Of Birds In Eastern US
A mysterious illness has been sickening songbirds in the eastern United States since May of this year, and researchers are working to discover the cause. The illness was first discovered in Washington, DC, and hundreds of cases in nine Midwestern and Eastern states have been reported since. Science Magazine reported that researchers have found that certain species of bird, such as blue jays and American robins, seem to be more susceptible to being infected.
