A 39-year-old woman has been accused of setting two fires in the Hudson Valley. Dana M. Weitlich of Wappingers Falls was arrested Tuesday and charged with arson and other related charges following an investigation into a series of incidents that occurred over the last several months in the Town of Wappinger, said the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. A 44-year-old Hudson Valley man is behind bars after authorities say he sexually assaulted a child for two years. Members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police, the Dutchess County Child Abuse Center and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office began an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 9-year-old female on Wednesday, Aug. 1. A 30-year-old man is behind bars after a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway resulted in the discovery of a variety of drugs, state police said. Troopers stopped a 2008 Honda on the Taconic in the town of Milan in Dutchess County on Friday, July 27 at approximately 4:20 p.m. While interviewing the occupants, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, state police said. Man Assaults Victim With Hammer In Domestic Dispute, Police Say
A 34-year-old man was arrested after assaulting another person with a hammer during a domestic dispute, according to the New York State Police. James M. Macisaac of Pine Plains was arrested Sunday for the attack with took place on Friday, July 13, in Pine Plains, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Troopers were alerted to the attack when nurses at Northern Dutchess Hospital reported a possible victim of domestic violence, Hicks said. A Dutchess County man is facing new charges after allegedly violating a court-ordered order of protection and threatening to kill his victim in Poughkeepsie.
