Hochul Provides Update On Wildfires In Hudson Valley
As the wildfires continue to burn across the Hudson Valley, Gov. Kathy Hochul updated what's being done to mitigate and contain them. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Hochul said a multi-agency response had been deployed to fires in Orange and Ulster counties in close coordination with local fire departments and first responders. According to Hochul, an aerial investigation shows the Orange County fire named the Jennings Creek/Sterling State Park wildfire in New York and New Jersey now encompasses 5,000 acres, half of which is in New York, and is 10 percent contained in both states. Video: Coyote Chases Deer In Front Yard Of Northern Westchester Home
It wasn't a roadrunner, but a coyote failed to get his mark during a chase with an animal in Northern Westchester. A coyote was caught on a doorbell camera in Yorktown Heights chasing a deer before veering off and heading in a different direction in defeat. The surveillance video was taken near the Jefferson Valley Mall off of Oakside Road. The homeowner noted that she originally thought it to be a fox chasing the deer, but ultimately determined that it was a coyote that may have been making the rounds in Westchester. Coyote Spotted In Front Of Northern Westchester Home
Is Westchester going to the dogs? Members of the North Castle Police Department were dispatched to an Annadale Road home at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, when a resident reported that there was a coyote in front of her home. Police said that officers responded to the scene, only to find that the coyote had fled into a nearby wooded area away from the home. Officers monitored the area, but the animal never made a return appearance.
