Fire Threatens Animals At Nature Preserve In Northern Westchester A late-day blaze at a nature reservation in Northern Westchester posed a threat to several animals housed in the building before it was put out.  The fire happened during the evening of Wednesday, June 7 at the Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  An original report of smoke in the building led to crews responding to a building on the reservation. Horse Barn Fire Breaks Out In New Canaan No horses were injured when a two-alarm horse barn fire broke out on the land of a private residence in Fairfield County. The blaze broke out around 5 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, in New Canaan, on Silvermine Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found the three-stall barn with a hayloft fully engulfed in flames,  said Assistant Fire Chief Albe Bassett, of the New Canaan Fire Department.
