POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Raquel Wasserman, Melissa Trail, Luca DeCapua and Billy Fiero-Joyce were all triple winners Thursday as the Pound Ridge Swim team opened its summer season with a 275-242 victory over Bedford Village.
Molly Henry and Lily Gentile were dual winners for Pound Ridge. Trail was victorious in the 18-and-under girls backstroke, butterfly and freestyle while Wasserman won the 14-and-under girls backstroke, butterfly and freestyle.
In the boys division, Fiero-Joyce, in 18-and-under, took first in the breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle and DeCapua did the same in the 12-and-under age group. Henry (10-and-under girls) prevailed in the backstroke and freestyle and Gentike (8-and-under girls) was triumphant in the breaststroke and freestyle.
The DeCapua, Wasserman and Trail families enjoyed fine days. Claudia and Daniela DeCapua, Lucas older sisters, placed first in the 18-and-under and 14-and-under breaststroke, respectively. Kurt Wasserman, Raquels older brother, won the 18-and-under backstroke and Trevor Trail, Melissas younger sibling, touched the wall first in the 12-and-under backstroke.
