Renowned Childrens Poet Ted Scheu Comes To Pound Ridge

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Students at Pound Ridge Elementary School are in for a special treat Monday when poet Ted Scheu spends the day entertaining everyone in specially scheduled assemblies and then holding special poetry workshops for fourth-graders.

Children's poet Ted Scheu welcomes kids and aliens of all ages to his web site, to tell you about some of the things you can find there, and to encourage you to come back often!

Scheu’s poems, focused on his childhood experiences and memories, have been published in separate volumes by several publishers and have been included in more than two dozen anthologies, both here and abroad.

“I try to capture in my poems the silliness and sadness, the worries and the wonders of being a kid – whether it’s school life or the surprising things that happen at home and with friends,” Scheu said. “My goal in writing, and especially in teaching, is to help kids find their own voices.”
