POUND RIDGE, N.Y. The Pound Ridge Town Board will be sending out bid requests next week as it gets ready to undertake a restoration project for the town pools, which is slated to begin this fall.
The work scheduled for the fall will focus on maintenance and repairs, such as replacing coping and fixing any leaks. The work next spring will include resurfacing all the pools in the complex.
The board has decided to ask for bids that would include the cost for doing all three pools at once, as well as doing them piecemeal one or two at time in order to give them budgetary flexibility.
It might be necessary to break [the work] up into stages, so the bid packages should reflect that, said board member Dan Paschkes. We can have them do one, two or maybe all three pools at once. If we do three at once, it should be less expensive.
The board has hired engineer Maurice Wrangell to oversee the project. Wrangell has worked with the town of Bedford on its pool restoration project.
Town Supervisor Gary Warshauer said the town has budgeted for the project, but would not reveal any figures until the bid process is complete.
