POUND RIDGE, N.Y. Pound Ridge police arrested a South Salem man early Saturday morning and charged him with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Police say they pulled over a car on Westchester Avenue for a routine traffic stop after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. Officers say during the interview they detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was given a field sobriety test, which police say he failed.
Officers then arrested Michael J. Kenyon, 27, and charged him with DWI. He was transported to headquarters for processing where he also was issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign. He was released on $250 bail and is due back in court Aug. 6.
The following items were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:
On July 3, a routine traffic stop on Pound Ridge Road resulted in the arrest of a Sleepy Hollow man who was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Police say after pulling the vehicle over for driving left of the pavement, a check revealed the drivers New York State driving privileges were suspended. Police then arrested Romulo R. Leon, 45, and charged him with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He was transported to headquarters for processing, where he also received a summons for driving left of the pavement. He was released on $240 bail and is due back in court Aug. 6.
On July 4, police were called to Cross Pond Road on the report of raccoon acting rabid. The animal was gone by the time officers arrived.
Police were called to Hoyt Road Friday on the report of a car/deer accident. The Wolf Conservation Center was notified to come and pick up the deer.
