Marian Otis, 84, Longtime Pound Ridge Resident

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Marian Otis of Pound Ridge died Aug. 7 in Helena, Mont. She was 84. 

Born Aug. 25, 1927, in New Rochelle, Otis completed high school in New Rochelle. She worked for March of Time in New York, a company that produced the newsreels for movie theaters in the 1950s. 

In 1948, she married V. James Pascuiti and moved to Pound Ridge, where she lived for the next 55 years. 

She enjoyed working at Schellings Market in Pound Ridge for many years.

Otis was active in Pound Ridge Community Church, where she sang in the choir. She researched and wrote the genealogy of Alexander Gordon, her Scots ancestor in the Colonies, who emigrated in 1652. 

Since 2003, she spent a year living in Vermont with her son, Jim, and eight years in Helena with her son, Paul.

Her husband died on Aug. 7, 1972.

She is survived by four children, Paul, Sandra, Jim and Marian; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sept. 15, at Pound Ridge Community Church.
