Doris Cakavell, Former Pound Ridge Town Receptionist

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Doris Cakavell, a longtime Pound Ridge resident and employee, died Saturday, Dec.15, at Greenwich Hospital. She was 77.

The daughter of the late Alfred and Friedel (Hempel) Lachhein, Cakavel was born Feb. 17, 1935, in New York City.

Cakavel was employed by the town of Pound Ridge for 42 years, holding many positions. Her most recent position was town receptionist. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Norwalk, Conn.

Cakavel is survived by her husband, George A. Cakavell; her daughter, Leslie Dickert; her son, Jonathan Dickert; her daughter, Deborah (Makoto) Wray Kikuchi; two grandsons, Robert and Christopher Wray, and a stepson, Frank Dieter Cakavell.

Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, N.Y.

The funeral service will be held at the same location at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21. It will be followed by an interment at the Pound Ridge Cemetery in Pound Ridge, N.Y.
