What’s Happening Around Pound Ridge This Week

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – The town's Memorial Day parade, a short-story session for adults and a children's field day are among events taking place around Pound Ridge this week.

Monday, May 28

Memorial Day Antiques & Farmers Holiday Market: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The holiday market brings collectors and browsers to Scotts Corners to check out the antiques and collectibles displayed by more than 50 vendors. It also features area farmers and growers who will offer fresh produce, cheese and meat. The event is held along Westchester Avenue in the Scotts Corners business district. Pound Ridge Memorial Day Parade: Noon. The parade starts at Pound Ridge Elementary School and travels along Route 124 to the cemetery across from the Town Park. A reception will follow in Town Park.

Tuesday, May 29

Moms ’n’ Tots Stories: 10:45 a.m. This event is for children age 2 with a parent or caregiver. Registration is required. Call the Hiram Halle Memorial Library at 914-764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Wednesday, May 30

Adult Learning Center Spring Mini-Session: 4:45-6 p.m. The session looks at the short stories of Anton Checkhov. This week’s stories are “The Darling,” “The Lady with the Dog” and “The Bishop.” Readings are available at the Hiram Halle Memorial Library. There is no fee, but registration is required. Bedford School Board Meeting:  8 p.m. The Bedford Central School District Board of Education will hold one of its two monthly meetings at the Fox Lane Middle School Little Theater. 632 S. Bedford Road, Bedford.

Friday, June 1

Fun with Music: 11 a.m. The Hiram Halle Memorial Library presents “Fun With Music” featuring Laura D'Amico, a music program for children ages 5 and under. There is no fee, but registration is required. Call the library at 914-764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Pound Ridge Elementary School Field Day: Noon. Elementary school students participate in outdoor field games and partake in grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments. 7 Pound Ridge Road, Pound Ridge.
