The pool house at Pound Ridge Town Park underwent major renovations this past spring after the Town Board approved a bond proposal for the $150,000 project in January.

In February, the Town Board accepted the plan of the redesign from local architect James Best.

“This is basically an interior modification,” Best told the board at that February meeting. “The bathroom, dressing room and kitchen will be repainted and all disrepair will be repaired. The plan is to close the current entrance and create a new entrance to the bathroom and make it all handicapped accessible.”

The plan also called for making the facility more energy-efficient, with everything being electronically operated.

“It’s a huge facelift and it should impress a lot of people,” Best said.

The renovations ultimately delayed the opening of the pool by a couple of days. The pool traditionally opens the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, but was pushed back to Monday, Memorial Day, as a result of the construction.
